As  an artisan who trained at Van Der Kelen Logelain, the renowned school  of decorative painting in Brussels, Sylvie Michel Bilger has created  custom finishes for the past 30 years. After spending the formative  years of her career working in Paris and the Château de Versailles, she  brought her business as a skilled and versatile decorative painter to  New York City, specializing in fine artistry for private residences.

Sylvie  is an absolute joy to work with. Her projects and expertise include  murals, stenciling, and intricate trompe l'oeil painting among other  artisan techniques. Sylvie has recently been developing a new line of  wallpapers in collaboration with SuperStrata that we are thrilled to  showcase in the near future.

It is fascinating to see the inspirations behind her transcendent work, some of which includes malachite,  marquetry, and her love of mixing contemporary patterns with ornate  French designs. Her hand-painted tortoise shell wall panels created one  at a time for the luxurious Carlyle Hotel in New York are a perfect  example of her talent and vision. From the more whimsical artistic  creations to the distinctly traditional gold leafing or marbleizing,  Sylvie always defines a room.
